Kit List

I hope that the weather is perfect for your guided walk, but the UK weather isn’t always predictable and can change without notice, so the kit you bring will be important to maximise your comfort, safety and enjoyment. Here is what I recommend you bring with you: 

Kit/Equipment for ALL Activities

The following list of kit/equipment is essential as a minimum requirement for all activities offered:

  • Strong comfortable walking boots with ankle support (no trainers or shoes)

  • Waterproof jacket

  • Waterproof trousers

  • Suitable outdoor clothing (jeans are not suitable)

  • Medium sized rucksack (25 litre size suggested minimum)

  • Waterproof liner for rucksack or smaller waterproof bags for items of clothing

  • At least 1 additional layer of warm clothing (e.g. long sleeve fleece or insulated jacket)

  • A warm hat and gloves

  • Sunhat (weather dependent)

  • A packed lunch & snacks

  • At least 1 litre of water/drinks (avoid carbonated drinks)

  • Facemask

Recommended Additional Kit/Equipment

I would recommend the following kit/equipment to enhance your enjoyment and comfort:

  • Sunscreen (weather dependent)

  • Sunglasses (weather dependent)

  • Gaitors (dependent on terrain/weather)

  • Small first aid kit (plasters for small cuts/blisters, pain relief etc.)

  • Walking poles (personal choice)

  • Small amount of cash for any additional refreshments along the way

Additional Kit/Equipment for Upland/Mountain Environments

  • A head torch with spare batteries

  • A whistle for attracting attention

  • Map & Compass
