My story…

My first hill walking experience was aged 14 - Crib Goch, Tryfan and the Glyders all in 24 hours. I was completely enchanted and haven't looked back since. The sense of achievement was immense and underpinned by the teamwork and leadership I was completely dependent upon to complete my mini expedition. I remember being in awe of the guy that led the whole adventure and his cool and faultless display of navigation between the summits, in conditions only North Wales sometimes has to offer. I came away determined to 'be like him one day'.

I've spent every available opportunity over the last 35 years in the hills and mountains on offer here in the UK and where possible abroad. My passion developed from walking the hills to running them (with a bit of walking I admit) over countless endurance events spanning the Lake District, the Brecon Beacons, the Black Mountains, Snowdonia and Mont Blanc.

These experiences provided the foundation and evidence that enabled me to qualify through the MTA award scheme as a Mountain Leader (ML).

The pace has returned to something a little more sedentary these days and I enjoy nothing more than the opportunity to get away on multi-day adventures exploring our beautiful national trails with good friends.

Away from the UK, the ML award enables me to lead young people on their expeditions to developing countries, and I've been privileged to have led teams to countries including Morocco, Tanzania, India, Nicaragua and Nepal.

I am passionate about providing safe, enjoyable, rewarding and memorable experiences. Adopting my values of responsibility and selflessness, I build confidence within the entire walking team to ensure we pull together in the same direction to achieve rewarding and successful outcomes.

Now more than ever, it is important that we explore and appreciate the one haven we have throughout these uncertain times, the great outdoors. I’m a huge believer of the benefits that physical activity outdoors can bring to both mental and physical well-being.

Take this opportunity to experience the beautiful and unique surroundings we have on our doorstep.
